Bowls England are encouraging Bowls Clubs to support the Let’s Roll campaign.
Downton Bowling Club are hoping new members will take up the game of Bowls with an Open Weekend on May 28 to 31.
“On another open day on May 11, young and old will be shown the principles of the game and can introduce themselves to our friendly bowls club members.
“Last year, the club, following the guidance of the Government, played among themselves and up to 30 members took part in several competitions leading to the BE Champion of Champions Finals. Alan Waters and Lynda Hale won through and we are looking forward to watch their progress this year,” said Michael Hallam, one of the organisers.
League games were cancelled last year due to Covid, but the club is looking forward to playing in all the Leagues, subject to Government guidelines.
