They are ringing in the changes at Knighton House.

Like any small business, the school has had to respond quickly to changing environmental conditions at home and globally, many of which are beyond its control; but absolutely within its control is the choice of Deputy Head Helen Dominey to become Head, in an ‘acting’ capacity.

A school spokesperson said: “Although in a lockdown school environment, there is no ‘pretend’ about any of the decisions she is making. Her strategic competence – she always drove the day-to-day running of the school, from Covid-19 protocols to the intricacies of staff allocation and timetabling – is tested by many years of experience.

“Under her leadership, Knighton House will not fear the changes that must inevitably come. Her team will continue to drive the curriculum for 21st century learners and ultimately, the future workforce, and crucially, she will continue to pose the question, ‘How might we?’ fundamental for the senior leadership team.”

The decision by Robin Gainher, former head, to return to his home in Norfolk was another effect of Coronavirus, because so far away from family.
