Salisbury-based Spires school was given a donation of toys from local toy shop, The Entertainer.

The school, which is remaining open during the Coronavirus pandemic, received a selection of toys, including LEGO sets, craft materials and Aqua Beads. The small, specialist school, run by a local social enterprise, Five Rivers Child Care, supports families in south Wiltshire. The school is for children who find it too difficult to manage in mainstream education. It provides support for those attending on a part-time or full-time basis.

During the current pandemic, new ways of learning for the children and young people who attend the school, include remote learning, using online tools, and providing additional educational resources also shared on the Five Rivers website and available to all.

Head of Education, James Hall said: “At Five Rivers, we believe that education is the passport to every child’s future, and during these difficult times, we’re committed to ensuring normality for our children and young people. Thank you to The Entertainer for their kind donation, which we will be sharing among some of our other services to ensure many more children get the benefit of them.”
