A visit from Bath Rugby Team’s coaching squad and, with the weather on side, the afternoon was a tremendous success for Wylye Valley C of E Primary School, Codford, last Friday.

Each class experienced a full-on training session, from brushing up on the importance of communication within a team to taking on the opposition via the ever-popular tag-rugby and ball passing skills.

Head Teacher, Rob Barnes, said: “The children had an absolutely amazing experience. Their faces were positively beaming with joy and enthusiasm. The coaching team was professional throughout, encouraging the pupils to push themselves out of their comfort zone while at the same time keeping things upbeat and fun.

“The afternoon could not have gone better. What an opportunity this has been for the children!”

Josh, in Year 4, gushed “It was absolutely awesome!” a sentiment echoed around the school from Reception to Year 6. It seems Bath Rugby Club may have recruited a few more fans as a result.
