Parents from Chilmark & Fonthill Bishop C of E School grouped together Just before February half-term to show their appreciation to hard-working teachers during the pandemic.

Annie Bird, from Bird & Carter Fonthill, put together a packed lunch delivered to the school by parent Frederique Messum on February 11.

“The teachers at Chilmark School have been working hard doing online lessons and teaching the children of key workers. Teachers are under a lot of pressure and they have adapted well. We wanted to show our appreciation, so we told the teachers not to bring in lunch and we delivered an extra special packed lunch as a huge thank you,” said Annie.

Headteacher Adam Smith said he had received huge thanks from parents for the school’s remote learning package and the well-being care provided by teaching assistant Mrs Chapman. Online assemblies, collective worship, science experiments and pupil-teacher catch up calls had all helped to keep the school’s values alive during the ‘very challenging times’.
