Charities are being offered support in Salisbury by McCarthy and Stone, as its new Castle Gate and Monument Place developments on Endless Street take shape.

The two developments represent two exclusive options to suit all stages of retirement. The Castle Gate Retirement Living development has 24 spacious and stylish one and two-bedroom apartments exclusively designed for those aged 60 and over. The neighbouring Retirement Living Plus development, Monument Place, features 63 one and two-bedroom apartments, exclusively designed for retirees aged 70 and over.

The first occupants are expected this month, McCarthy and Stone – said to be the UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, wants to support a neighbourhood project, charity or one-off event within the Salisbury community.

Local groups and charities should get in touch as soon as possible by emailing mccarthyandstone@mccann.com by  April 5, marking the emails ‘Salisbury Community Appeal’ in the subject header.

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for McCarthy and Stone South, said: “Our fundamental aim when creating a development is to support and integrate McCarthy and Stone, as well as our future residents into the local community. Our charity appeal allows us to create those important ties with local groups and neighbourhood projects, helping us all to build a positive legacy together. We encourage any local groups who are interested to get in touch now.”

Once complete, facilities at the Castle Gate Retirement Living development will include a spacious communal lounge for socialising with friends and new neighbours, landscaped gardens, and a guest suite for friends or relatives to stay.

Next door, Monument Place, is the 100th Retirement Living Plus development by McCarthy and Stone, and will include all these features but with help of personally tailored domestic and support services. Specially trained staff will be on-site 24 hours a day, and facilities will also include an on-site bistro serving hot meals as well as various light snacks and specialist teas and coffees.

Prices at Castle Gate start at £310,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £399,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. One and two-bedroom apartments at Monument Place are from £280,000 and £399,000 respectively.
