Police are investigating a conspiracy to commit burglary and are appealing to anyone who was near Netherhampton Road, Salisbury, on Saturday, July 18.

They may have witnessed two men working in a manhole on the drive leading to Bookers Cash and Carry supermarket soon after 1pm.

The two men are described as white, slim build, wearing white T-shirts, and one could have been wearing a hi-viz jacket.

At the time, the store staff reported phone lines down in the store, and later, cables had been cut in the manhole where the men were seen.

Both men were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary. They were bailed pending further investigation.

Anyone who remembers seeing the men, or perhaps drivers could have dashcam footage, are asked to contact Wiltshire Police.
