Wellington Eagles Primary Academy school in Tidworth will stay closed today, January 4, due to “insufficient staff available.”

“Remote learning and provision for key worker children will be available from Tuesday, January 5,” said a notice on the school’s website.

Six primary schools have stayed closed in Wiltshire and Swindon today as teaching unions have raised concerns about rising coronavirus case rates.

Shaftesbury Primary School will be closed for all pupils, except for pupils who are vulnerable and of key workers, until January 18 following the government’s staggered approach.

“All work will be completed remotely, pupils will be taught by their teachers via Google Classroom,” the school’s website stated.
