An address in Salisbury has been issued with a closure order after a joint police and local authority investigation into suspected drugs activity, anti-social behaviour and violence.

Salisbury Area Community Policing Team was called to the property in Eyres Way numerous times and worked with Wiltshire Council to apply to the courts for a full closure order.

Granted yesterday, November 25, by Salisbury Magistrates Court, it prevents anyone from entering the property over the next three months. It would be committing a criminal offence and they could be arrested.

PC Mark Douglas said he hoped this measure would have a positive impact on people living in the community.

He said: “We know how much misery has been caused in the local area by the criminal activity at this address, so we have worked hard with the local authority to have this full closure order granted by the courts.

“We now need to make it clear that this property has been closed and that anyone who is found there could be arrested.

“Over the next few months, we will be carrying out increased patrols to ensure the order is being adhered to.”
