A public meeting at 5pm on Monday, March 8, will address the longstanding traffic issues on Church Road, Laverstock.

Since September, a working group involving Laverstock & Ford Parish Council, Wiltshire Council, local residents, the Police and leaders from the schools has met regularly to discuss long-term solutions.

Local residents and parents will hear about progress and can comment on some of the possible next steps.

The work so far included short-term measures, such as co-ordinated action by Police, council enforcement officers and school staff challenging illegal and antisocial parking and exploration of longer-term measures.

The schools are working on refreshing their school travel plans, which could potentially unlock funding for more highways and infrastructure measures and has involved parents.

Those live on Church Road or the surrounding roads or if they are part of the daily journey to work or school, the meeting will share what has been achieved so far and hear views.

Questions can be asked, such as: Would you like to see more yellow lines on Church Road? How can we make it easier to walk and cycle to school? Would extra car parking capacity help or make the problem worse?
