After the public was asked to pick a favourite play unit design from two short-listed options on the Salisbury City Council’s Facebook page in October, more than 100 comments resulted in ‘Option A’ as the preferred choice.

Now, Churchill Gardens will have the new play unit, designed by Proludic Ltd, for children aged three and over, to replace an old well-used unit. Much like the old one, it will be adventure boat-themed and includes a climbing net, slide and imaginative play among other things.

Salisbury City Council leader Cllr Liz Sirman, said: “Good outdoor play areas are more important than ever for children and I am delighted to see this equipment, chosen by the community, being put into place.”

Installation of the unit in Churchill Gardens is due to start on Monday, December 14, ready to play on during the Christmas holidays.
