A high-speed pursuit on the A36 ended in Stapleford at about 11.30pm last night, December 1, after a vehicle driving at excess speed failed to stop for officers.

An authorised pursuit ensued and ended when the driver took a corner at speed and left the road. There was a short pursuit on foot before a 26-year-old man from Torquay was detained.

He was arrested on suspicion of supply of Class B drugs, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle.
