Businesses in Wiltshire can still apply for vital grant funding but the schemes close on Friday, August 28.

Nearly 7,500 businesses in the county have benefitted from either a £10,000 Small Business Grant, or a £10,000 or £25,000 Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant. The funding does not have to be repaid and has offered a lifeline to many small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eligible businesses should apply online as soon as possible. Applications and any additional information required must be received by 5pm on Monday, August 24 to allow sufficient time for the application to be processed and the funding paid before the grants programme closes.

Another 450 businesses received £7,000 through the Discretionary Grants Fund and applications not yet been paid are being processed.

Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council: said: “We have reached the final stages of the grant schemes and it is imperative eligible businesses receive the financial support available. If you think you are eligible, complete the online application form and provide all the supporting documents required as soon as possible or by the 5pm Monday, August 24 deadline.

“After the grants funding closes unspent grant has to be returned to central government.

“The funding could provide a welcomed injection of cash for you and your business – and even better, it does not have to be paid back, so don’t miss out.”
