• Dogs Trust Salisbury  moves to an appointment-only system from 5pm on Friday, March 20 and its Newton Tony-base will close.
  • The charity is no longer taking  shop goods at rehoming centres or shops to limit unnecessary contact for the time being.

Appointments will be made for people who wish to give up their dogs for any reason. People who have a current reservation or are due to collect a dog are not be affected and can contact the local centre by phone.

The charity has postponed all non-essential community events and suspended dog school training classes. Those wishing to donate  to the charity are asked not to take them to the rehoming centre or nearest charity shop in person, until further notice.

The charity’s staff will adopt government hygiene recommendations.

David Franklin, Regional Manager at Dogs Trust, said:

“The health and wellbeing of our staff and our local communities is paramount. We will continue to monitor and follow advice from the Government and are doing what we can to limit non-essential travel and contact.
