With growing national concern about litter, Salisbury City Council wants residents to ‘do their bit’ and keep the city clean for when businesses re-open on April 12.

As restrictions ease and non-essential retail and outdoor hospitality venues open, the message underlines the importance of not dropping litter but taking it home.

The city council litter team has found abandoned personal protective equipment, rubbish and dog mess in local parks and green areas. Not only is this harmful to the environment, but children playing in the areas are put at risk.

The council pleads: “Please keep Salisbury clean and make it look as good as it can be for its re-opening by taking litter home or putting it in the bins provided. By working together, help us make sure our city is a clean and enjoyable space to visit.”
