Wiltshire Council is launching a competition to encourage young people to share their creative flair during lockdown.

Do you love writing or more of a crafty person and enjoy making things such as posters? If aged between four and 18, the council wants to hear from you.

Poetry, short stories, posters or creating your own face covering, are all accepted.

The competition launched today on November 18 and entries will be shared on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.

Judging is in early December with prizes for winners in four categories.

The competition is in age groups 5–7, 8–11, 12–15 and 16–18.

Younger primary age can create a poster on a template on how to keep 2m apart. Older primary children can write a poem or short story based on “2021 is going to be …”

Secondary age children can get crafty and create a face covering and share their pictures or write a story or poem along the same theme “2021 is going to be….”

Full details are available on the website including a competition entry form which must be filled in. The council hopes young people will get creative and share their ideas.

Send entries and a completed competition entry form to communications@wiltshire.gov.uk by 12 noon on November 30. Winners will be announced early in December.
