Seven grants were awarded at Amesbury Community Board meeting to help the community cope with Covid-19 and older people including virtual community lunches and small tea boxes for vulnerable people in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year.

Another project provides a small plant pot, bulbs and greenery to pot up on windowsills, also for vulnerable people and those who do not have easy access to green spaces. Funding was also given for youth activities specifically aimed at vulnerable young people to help them get through the crisis. A regular youth club in Amesbury will open as soon as possible subject to government rules, in addition to outreach work.

The next virtual Amesbury Area Board meeting is on Thursday, January 14 at 6.30pm.
