Witnesses are needed after an assault in Salisbury city centre between 8pm and 9pm on Monday, March 16.

A 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were sitting in McDonalds before 8pm before walking through the Market Place, where they were approached by a group of young girls who assaulted the 17-year-old by kicking her.

The group of girls followed the couple and again assaulted the girl near Bishops Mill, kicking her several times before punching the 18-year-old boy in the face.

Although the couple suffered only minor injuries, they were shaken and upset.

As part of Police enquiries, a 16-year-old girl from Melksham was arrested on suspicion of assault and interviewed. She was released under investigation.
