Motorists are warned they could experience delays this week due to abnormal loads.

Three separate convoys are travelling in different parts of Wiltshire tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, July 29, 30 and 31.

The first arrives at Parkhouse tomorrow (29) at about 2 pm to travel along the A303, exiting at the Countess Roundabout near Amesbury, before heading north on the A345 to Larkhill. The convoy has two “modular buildings”, each 4.4m wide.

On Thursday (30) a second abnormal load from Parkhouse at around 10 am, travels along the A303, before exiting at Codford and travelling north on the A36 to Warminster. The convoy is a swimming pool and is 4.6m wide. Its final destination is around the Rudge and Brokerswood area.

On Friday (31) the third load joins Junction 18 of the M4 at around 10.45am, exiting at Junction 15 and travelling north on the A419 towards Rat Trap. It will exit there and travel along Highworth Road, Hobley Drive and Swindon Road, before arriving at BMW. It consists of two loads up to 4.1m wide and weighing 88t and 110t.

In all three cases, the loads will be slow-moving and could cause congestion, with oncoming traffic required to pull in to wait for them to pass.

Disruption will be kept to a minimum, although drivers are asked to be patient should they come across the loads, and allow sufficient additional time for their journey.

Police escorting resources are provided by officers, paid for by the haulier at no cost to the public.
