A new Salon offering a variety of beauty services has opened on Milford Street, Salisbury, next to Chas H Baker.

Sophie Cormack grew up in Salisbury surrounded by family in the beauty industry. Her sister, Louise, owns the Salisbury Toni & Guy salon and her sister’s husband, Phil, opened his salon Smith England in 2013.

Enjoying all aspects of the beauty industry, Sophie saw a gap in the market for an all-encompassing salon providing hair, nails, tanning, physio and other beauty treatments.

Sophie told New Valley News; “I know what I would want from a salon, and that’s somewhere I can get all the beauty services in one place.

“One really exciting thing about this salon is our collagen bed as the (other) nearest one is in Bristol and it is usually fully booked. A collagen bed is non-cancerous and improves your skin. As you get older, your collagen levels reduce, so the collagen bed can be a treatment for anti-ageing, skin imperfections or lines and wrinkles.”

The path to opening Sophie’s salon has not been easy. She was granted permission for change of use of the building in March and was due to open soon after. “I am so excited to finally be open. Before COVID-19, it was only going to take three weeks to get us set up, then it was delayed by the council. Now, we are ready to launch and to share my dream with the people of Salisbury.”

Sophie is confident about the future and that her unique salon will be just what people are looking for. “I want this to be popular. We have an exciting loyalty card scheme in which we record each treatment you receive and keep your loyalty card here in the salon, so it doesn’t get lost. This introduces an element of surprise as clients will be rewarded with a free service when they complete their cards – there aren’t deals like this elsewhere in Salisbury.

“It’s been a big investment, but I know what I would want from a salon and little things, such as a welcoming reception and refreshments on arrival, give clients a luxury experience.”
