The King and Queen’s great friend Ian Farquhar was found dead at his home by his carer.

Renowned huntsman Old Etonian Mr Farquhar, 78, was discovered in the home near Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Yesterday Wiltshire Police said: ”There are no suspicious circumstances.”

An inquest at Salisbury, Wiltshire, was told a post mortem examination had showed Ian Walter Farquhar died from postural asphyxia.

He had been found by his carer.

Mr Farquhar was confirmed dead at his home near Chippenham at 1.10 pm on 6 March after the alarm was raised.

The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
