Recent press reports claimed the nation should eat more venison to help an urgent cull of deer, which are becoming ‘overpopulated’ in the UK.
Game specialists Wild and Game have devised a special gift box for Father’s Day – a selection of their most popular products, ranging from cheese and chutneys to sausages and a generous 1lb huntsman pie.
Established in 2017, the Yeovil-based Wild and Game founders committed themselves to boosting game consumption in the UK.
Co-founder Steven Frampton said:
“We set up Wild and Game because we saw a solution to two problems. First, a large amount of game shot in the UK was not being consumed in the UK. Secondly, there was a growing desire among consumers to eat meat whose production has a lower environmental impact than your typical farmed meat. Converting more people in the UK addresses both these problems and brings more variety and flavour to people’s mealtimes.”
