The final week of term three at Wylye Valley C of E Primary School, Codford, was rounded off with a virtual visit from Caz ‘The Dance Lady’ (aka Caroline Newman). Throughout the week, she held an online dance session with each of the four classes (Little Einsteins, Galileo, Franklin and Newton) via the online meeting app ‘Zoom’. All pupils in the classes at school and at home, could join in with a special dance session targeted at their age group and expertly coordinated by Caz.
The virtual visit was particularly special because, under normal circumstances, the annual primary schools’ West Wiltshire Dance Festival, at the Forum in Bath, was scheduled for this week. Even though the school event was a considerably pared-down affair, all the children, in school and at home, had an excellent time.
Riva and Lottie (year 5) both agreed: “It was fabulous!” Caz was especially impressed as Rob Barnes (Head Teacher) took part in all of the sessions ‘the only head across the 60 plus schools I’ve worked with to do so!’
The dance sessions were such a hit that more have been arranged for next term.
