Police officers were called to Culver Street car park in Salisbury at about 10am today, July 8, after callers voiced concerns about the welfare of a young boy.

New Valley News editorial assistant, who witnessed the scene, saw a distressed boy on the top floor of the car park and what appeared to be a caregiver trying to talk the boy down.

Officers arrived and engaged with the boy and he was taken to a place of safety.

Speaking to New Valley News, Beth said: “It was really worrying to see the young boy so upset. I asked the man talking to him if he needed my help, or whether I should call anyone. I informed the police, and luckily, somebody was already on route to the scene. Like others, I am relieved to hear the boy is now in a place of safety.”
