A family is hoping the rain will ‘drag out’ its ‘much-loved family pet’ Bearded dragon called Aragog who went missing when the heat started seven days ago.

They believe Aragog roamed in the hot sunshine after thinking he was back in Australia but escaped from his home in Ludgershall.

Owner Jane Nash, husband soldier Brian, their two children, and local residents, have scoured the countryside hunting for him without success.

As the heatwave diminished on August 14, desperate Jane said: ”I just hope when the rain comes it will drag him out and he will be seen by someone. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack in this weather. He will be loving the hot weather like he was back in Australia.

“He is a very much loved family pet – we miss him terribly, she added,”
