Gritchie Brewing Company is in Ashmore, Wiltshire, just outside Shaftesbury. The brewery sits on part of Ashgrove Farm owned by Guy Ritchie, thus the name of the brewery ‘Gritchie’.

The Gritchie range of beers is named Lore, after Loric traditions of England, word-of-mouth customs passed on through the generations. Most British pub names are inspired by Lore. The Greene Man has its roots in the Lore of England while the The Hope and Anchor or Cross Keys, for example, have more Biblical loric roots. “Our four fermenters are named after the four Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, allowing us to combine the history of both traditions, English and Biblical, in our beer.

“We have been brewing here since July, 2017, using our home-grown and harvested Maris Otter barley, and water sourced from our own spring. We are a small team of seven who brew cask, kegged and bottled beers distributed predominantly with a 30-mile radius of the brewery,” said a Gritchie Brew spokesperson.

“We are all very much looking forward to this year’s show. We are so very pleased to be working in partnership with secretary James to help make this year a memorable one for all who attend. Please feel free to come down and celebrate with a cold pint of Gritchie Brew.”
