Send ‘Salisbury’s famous brownies’ in the post.

This year, Lizzie Coombes, otherwise known as ‘Queen of Bundts’, teamed up with Gill Timms, local florist, to sell wreath-making kits with a festive sweet treat.

Their doorstep delivery service has a traditional wreath-making kit and four gooey chocolate brownies for £40: the perfect activity for a festive afternoon at home.

Lizzie talked about her famous brownies and the beginnings of The Queen of Bundts.

“I wanted to bake for a living for a long time, but I was always in another job. I slowly started to set up the business, and was just about ready to start in March. Then, lockdown came and I was furloughed from my usual job, so it started accidentally really.

“I specialise in bundts and celebration cakes, but someone said ‘your brownies are pretty good’, and because they can be sent by post, they really took off! Because of this, I now also have another nickname, ‘The Brownie Lady!

“The Christmas brownies have raisins soaked in rum and topped with marzipan – it’s basically Christmas cake in a brownie. This year, I am also offering an alternative for chocolate lovers who aren’t big fans of the traditional Christmas cake. It’s a pudding shaped Malteser chocolate cake with a festive sprig of holly.

Availability is limited so get your orders in as soon as possible!”

Order Christmas cakes for delivery in December up to December 19. Brownies can be ordered for Christmas delivery until the December 18 and cost £10 for a box of four, or £22 for a tray of 10. Delivery is free in the SP1/2 area but outside there is a small delivery charge. Brownies can be shipped nationally for next day delivery.
