Salisbury’s new restaurant will provide local apprentices hands-on work experience but potential employment once it opens its doors in September.

The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, in The Stones Hotel on the outskirts of the city, is recruiting staff for its grand opening in early Autumn.

Michael Barnes, general manager said: “Work to convert the hotel’s previous restaurant is progressing well and we’re well on track for a September opening.

“We’re now keen to select those who will make diners and drinkers’ experience second-to-none while helping to maintain the exacting standards required from someone of Marco’s calibre.

“The Stones Hotel has a successful track record in using apprenticeship schemes. Our local colleges have helped us in the process from 2014 when we first opened our doors and we will continue that relationship.”

Those chosen will be put through a rigorous training programme on the exacting standards.

Michael added: “Apprentices bring fresh energy and the scheme works fantastically well. It not only gives young people the chance to gain invaluable experience but enables us to tap into a wealth of local talent and enthusiasm.

“As a major hotel in the area we also have an obligation to provide the next line restaurant managers and chefs the opportunity to get hands on experience in the work place. There is a lot of talent in the region and tapping into this talent, giving it an opportunity and letting it develop will help secure the future of the business.”
