The Lover Garage Sale is celebrating its 11th year and it has an interesting history.
David Charles, a trustee on the Lover Community Trust, said: “ Students returned from university with a lot of stuff they didn’t want, so let’s open up the garage and sell it. I asked other villagers if they would like to participate and got 38 positive responses. Nearly a third of all houses in and around Lover take part. Hence one person’s junk, is another’s treasure.”
Proceeds from the pitch hires go to running the Green , but all stall sales go to the individual, or charity of their choice. The hall opens for bacon butties, teas, and cake!
