Mere Museum‘s preview evening for members on Monday, February 3, included a new exhibition ‘Mere Union Workhouse’. It explores the workhouse in every aspect, from staff, inmates, the buildings and running.  Many documents were destroyed at the time of the closure of the workhouse but the Guardian Books remain, 16 volumes, giving an insight into the daily routine, with financial and statistical books.

The exhibition opened to the public on Tuesday, February 4, and runs for the next four  months.
