From 6pm until 11pm on Tuesday, February 18 to Saturday, February 22, vehicle and pedestrian access to the Cathedral Close is restricted during the five nights of performances of Sarum Lights.

The sound and light show is the first event of Salisbury 2020: City on the move, a year-long programme of events and activities marking the 800th anniversary of the Cathedral’s move from Old Sarum and the development of the city as we know it today. Projections will appear on the West Front and, once inside, ticket-holders will be taken on a walking journey through the Cathedral’s story, surrounded by its beautiful medieval spaces.

To manage the audience safely, the organisers say access to The Close is restricted during performances.

  • A road closure for the High Street and no vehicle access via the High Street Gate from 6pm to 11pm.
  • No pedestrian access to The Close unless attending the show from 6pm to 11pm.
  • St Ann’s Gate will be closed from 6pm.
  • No parking in the Close.
  • Access for ticket-holders only through Harnham Gate.

Booking in advance is advised.  Some tickets may be available on the night – the box office is accessible through the High Street Gate.
