Serenity Spa Wax Melts is a Salisbury business owned by Sasha Masters. When she graduated with an events management degree, she decided to put her skills to good use the only way she could during a pandemic, by starting a business.

Wax melts are wickless scented wax that you place on top of a tea-light burner to fill your home with a beautiful fragrance. Since beginning in June, Sasha has gained a loyal customer base. Now, she wants to give back. To do this, Serenity Spa Wax Melts will be giving 10% of their profits to a different charity each week in March. Each charity has a special and personal reason behind the choice. New Valley News spoke to Sasha about what inspired her to give back.

“18 months ago I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Every week I receive messages from women asking about my symptoms and diagnosis and I raise as much awareness about the disease as I can on my social media.

“I have chosen Endometriosis UK because they give me hope that awareness of the disease is increasing and that more research is going into treating this chronic illness which affects one in 10 women,” said Sasha.

In the second week, Sasha will donate to Action for Children, the charity which helps deliver life-changing support for children and families who need it most. In the third week, she will donate to NHS charities “for their incredible work” during the pandemic.

For the last week of the month, Sasha has chosen Marie Curie. “Many of my friends and family have been touched by Marie Curie’s self-less end-of-life care during a time of need. It would be great to be able to give back,” said Sasha.
