The Hingston family have opened their second family business in Wilton on West Street, a one-stop beauty shop with a variety of treatments on offer.

Sammi Biddle launched her new salon, The Boudoir, with her husband Scott, and it was due to open just before lockdown.

The Boudoir has a boutique feel, with trendy neon lights and glamorous makeup mirrors. With an eye for flair, Sammi has transformed the old building into a fashionable beauty boutique, bringing a splash of colour to Wilton’s high street.

“Opening a new business is stressful at the best of times, let alone with the new rules,” said Sammi. Currently, Sammi’s salon is offering hairdressing, nails, sunbed sessions and body waxing, but when restrictions lift, a variety of beauty treatments will be on offer too.

Sammi acquired her expert beauty knowledge when training with the Angels of the North, a BBC Three program following hair extensionists at the Longlox hair salon. “Other than hair extensions, I gained my beauty knowledge from being a consumer of the beauty industry. My salon is a one-stop-shop for everything I love about beauty.”

“I aim to have everything done in one place. I’d love to throw prosecco pamper parties, so when you come out of the salon you’re completely ready for your night out.”

Sammi is excited about a new challenge and to be part of the local community. “We have Hingstons Antiques in Wilton, so it felt right to keep our family local and Wilton-based, and there’s nothing like this on offer,” she claimed.

Local beauty talent is championed at The Boudoir. Elspeth Morley, daughter of David Morley (of Wilton Chiropractic Centre), has a resident spot at the salon. “Elspeth is a beautician specialising in advanced Anesi facials,” Sammi explained.

“In our team we have Sorin, a Toni and Guy trained hair specialist, Charlotte an advanced hairstylist who specialises in colour correction, Elspeth our beautician, and myself, a hair extension specialism, and I also offer threading services.”

“I am excited to continue to be part of the local business scene in Wilton and I can’t wait to welcome everyone into The Boudoir,” she added.
