An open day raised £600 for the charities, Salisbury Stars Appeal and South Wilts Mencap at Lifestyle Fitness Avon Valley in Salisbury on September 7

More than 300 attended, celebrating expansion at the facility, and they had free use of all facilities, including outdoor taster classes, bouncy castles, face-painting, challenges with Durrington FC, and more.

Fundraising efforts all year for the chosen charity, Salisbury Stars Appeal, began with £1 being donated for every person walking through the doors.

Tom Jeanes, assistant club manager, said “Stars Appeal have been our chosen charity for 2019 and at the heart of our fundraising efforts. To be able to donate £300 after the success of our open day was just another achievement.”

Visitors were joined by Cllr John Walsh and Mayoress Carolyn Walsh, to open the expansion with a dedicated plaque as they cut the red ribbon.

“Cllr Walsh and Mayoress Carolyn are supporting the South Wilts Mencap Charity this year, so we decided to match our donation to the Stars Appeal, and donate £300 to their Charity too, as we were grateful for them coming to support our day,” said club manager Brandon Davies.
