Dorseteco are making their debut at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show this year.

The small family business aims to encourage others to think about changing their habits and purchasing eco-friendly alternatives for the home. Owner, Sarah Sherwin, with the encouragement of her daughter, became more aware of how easy it was to simply swap products to those that are better for the environment.
“I thought ‘there are bound to be others who would like to do the same but don’t know where to start or where to find eco-friendly products,” said Sarah.

Her first product was their homemade ‘Snackwraps’ beeswax wraps to take your sandwich to work, or wrap leftovers in the fridge, and she’s very proud to say she has used cling film only twice since.

“We appreciate that’s a small step, but if we all did the same what accumulative effect could we have! We truly believe all of these small steps will make a difference,” added Sarah.

Dorseteco stock a variety of products from bamboo baby weaning bowls, coconut breakfast bowls, bamboo toothbrushes and interdental sticks, washing up brushes and sponges, greetings cards with seeds impregnated into the paper, plus Elephant box stainless steel lunchbox solutions and Weaver Green bags and throws made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles.

Speaking about their debut at the show, Sarah said: “We are really excited to be attending as a stallholder, having regularly visited previously as a member of the public. Well done to the committee for keeping abreast of regulations and ensuring the show will go ahead.” www.dorseteco.co.uk
